This has been known since Mark Cerny's Road to PS5 talk showed separate PS4 and PS4 Pro legacy modes, as well as the "PS5 native" BC mode. However, it's very possible for PS4 games to run on PS5 exactly as if it were a standard PS4. I'm not convinced that this is what's happening in the game. Thanks a lot for the details! I'll be adding the game in the next update, alongside the warnings. Native PS5 tech details can be found in this thread. It doesn't appear because it's received a patch to make it PS5 native instead of BC. Also, are there two different modes in the game? I've found footage that's 60fps, but also at 30fps even though captured at 60. If anyone can post 4K screenshots from PS5, that would be key. I've actively tried to find info on Outer Wilds not just in the thread, and have been unable to fill in all the details. I'm still a few pages behind, but wanted to answer some questions that have been asked. Just popping in to say that I'm trying very hard to catch up on analyzing and recording everything that's been posted. Not instant as in button press and done, but barely noticable It's pretty much instant it seems? Was that also on PS4? It really shocked me, that's how fast it was so I am really curious. Neverwinter on PS5 - Framerate cap turned offĮdit 2 - Just recorded some Titanfall 2 and was kind of shocked at how good it looked but most of all, the loading. In 1 minute after booting - oh this looks like jankĪfter 1 hour of playing - mmmm interesting You still got shit like Styx, but whatever, in general, it's really solid. I booted up around 200 games the past 2 weeks and I honestly can not think of any other studio / publisher who had such a streak of decent to fast loading games. You could argue 'it isn't doing much crazy stuff' but so aren't many other simpler games that take way, way waaaay longer to load. Just look at The Council as well, it's just instant really. E: Late edit, something I really do start to notice is that some of those games that Focus Home Interactive published / released the last few years are loading really fast by console standards.
